8 Parishes – Flood Forum

Last March the first meeting of the 8 Parishes Flood Forum was held in East Horsley.

The forum, now Chaired by our new local MP Zoe Franklin, was assembled to discuss and collate the ever increasing flooding issues in the local parishes of Ockham, Effingham, East and West Horsley, East and West Clandon, Ripley and Send. The forum will also have attendees from the statutory authorities (i.e. SCC) and relevant water companies (i.e. Thames Water).

The minutes from that first meeting are available to download here

East Clandon does not seem to have much of a flooding issue as yet, apart from the Ripley Road under the railway bridge which closes the road far too regularly, and further up towards the prison but correct me if I’m wrong!

Let us know about any flooding concerns you have in the comments section below – please leave the location and nature of the problem and any remedy that is apparent (ie jet wash a drain or clear a culvert). Please also leave some contact details in case we need to follow up on the information.

The next Flood Forum Meeting will be heldĀ  on Friday 20th September 2024 between 10am and 12 noon at East Horsley Village Hall.

Everyone is welcome and an agenda will be forwarded in due course.

Please contact me with any queries and as I can’t attend, perhaps someone would like to represent East Clandon with our flooding issues – please let me know.
